Creatine is a substance naturally present in the body, synthesized mainly by the kidneys, pancreas and liver, and plays a fundamental role in cellular energy metabolism.
Supplementation with 3 grams of creatine monohydrate per day, an amount equal to physiological turnover, has been deemed safe by EFSA (European Food Safety Authority).
We would like to underline, however, that the EFSA evaluation refers to the patent for the Creapure® production process (US patent 5,719,319) which allows for the reduction of the levels of impurities including dicyanamide, creatinine and dihydro-1,3,5-triazine.
